Located 3.85 km W of Waterville: Wakefield Parish, Carleton County: named for settler John Jackson: PO 1852-1916: in 1866 Jacksontown was a farming settlement with about 35 resident families: in 1871 the community and surrounding district had a population of 250: in 1898 Jacksontown had 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 100: included Farmerston: PO 1864-1916: in 1898 Farmerston was a community with 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 100.
