    • Obituary:

      Dr. Mildred McIntosh 1920-2014 Dr. Mildred McIntosh, age 93, died on February 12, 2014. She was a resident of Riverside Court in Woodstock, NB and previously lived in Florenceville and Bath, NB.
      Mildred was born on December 7, 1920 and raised on a farm in Maroa, Illinois. She received a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Nutrition from the University of Illinois in Champagne-Urbana. She taught university at Florida State University in Tallahassee and U.C.L.A. in Los Angeles. She married Malcolm McIntosh in California in 1952. She gave up her university career and came to New Brunswick to raise a family. She raised four children on a farm in Johnville. She was active in her church and community. She received a life membership from the Bath UCW and the Bath Women’s Institute.
      In 1996, she moved to Florenceville and became a master hitchhiker and attended as many activities as possible.
      Mildred was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Malcolm and her sister, Evelyn. She is survived by one sister Ruth Hundley of Warrensburg, Illinois, four children, Elizabeth, Malcolm Kenneth (Darlene), Jim (Carol), and Charlie (Shauna) six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law.
      Visitation will be held at Faith Memorial United Church, 175 Burnham Road, Florenceville-Bristol on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 2-5 pm. Funeral service to be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm from Faith Memorial United Church. Interment will be in Glassville United Cemetery at a later date.
      The family would like to thank Riverside Court for the care they have provided to Mildred. Memorials can be made to Faith Memorial United Church or the Heart And Stroke Fund in memory of Mildred. Arrangements are entrusted to L.R.
