    It is with deep sadness the family of Marjorie Ellen Hitchcock, of Bath formerly of Beechwood, announce her passing on December, 6th, 2022 at the Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital, Perth-Andover, New Brunswick.
    Marjorie was born December 17, 1932 at Johnville, NB to Colby & Zelma (Curtis) Swimm.
    Marjorie was predeceased by her late husband Graydon Hitchcock (November 1, 1998), her parents and her siblings Reuben, Philip, James, Merle, Beulah, Mary, Elva, Hazel, infant brother Walter, infant sister Ruth.
    She is survived by her children Carol, Stephen (Karen), Peggy, Valerie, Stanley (Michelle), William (Julia), Daniel and Hal, twenty grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, her brother, Earl, sister and best friend Elsie as well as many nieces & nephews and extended family.
    Mom was a hard worker all her younger life and was the first one to help any family or friend in their time of need. She was best known for her knitting & crocheting, baking her famous whoopie pies, donuts and breads and her long red fingernails. She enjoyed playing bingo with our Dad and her late daughter in-law Shirley (2004). She loved old country music, gospel music, watching Mrs. Fletcher, The Young & the Restless and playing Yatzee. But most of all she loved spending time with her family near and far.
    Marjorie’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Waterville & Perth Hospital for their loving care of Mom during her final days, and a very special thanks to Dr. Collin Lockhart for his many years of care and kindness to our Mother.
    To the palliative care nursing team at the Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital. Thank you. You truly are compassionate, dedicated and caring people. God bless you.
    A funeral service will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol in the spring and will be announced at that time. The interment will be held in St. George's Anglican Cemetery, Lake Edward at that time.     The death of Philip David Swim, of Johnville, occurred on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at home surrounded by his family. Born July 27, 1919 in Stickney he was the son of the late Colby and Zelma (Curtis) Swim and husband of the late Mildred Swim.

    Philip is survived by his 4 children, Wayne Swim, Linda Crain (Tom), Susan Inman (Dale) and Peter Swim (Tami); 22 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 4 siblings, Earl Swim (Florence), Meryl Swim (Barbara), Marjorie Hitchcock and Elsie Smith and many nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by his parents, wife Mildred, 4 children, Sharon Elaine, Judith Ann, Paul Nicholas and Cheryl Irene, 1 grandson, Ian Dale, 1 great grandchild, Allison, siblings, Reuben, Beulah, Mary, Elva, James, Hazel, Ruthie (Infant) and Walter (Infant).

    Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Hopkins officiating. Interment will be in the Mineral Cemetery.

    Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 37 will hold a service Monday evening at 6:45 pm.

    Hazel A. Sponberg Woodworth, 86, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, at a Caribou nursing home. She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Stickney, New Brunswick, the daughter of Colby and Zelma (Curtis) Swimm. Hazel had a passion for cooking and became a well-known chef at many local restaurants such as Keddy's, The Northeastland, The Prestile and The Ponderosa. After retiring from cooking, she managed apartments for Dalton Scovil for 20 years. She was a hard worker who would never turn down an opportunity to try something new. Hazel was also a member of State Street Baptist Church. Her family was very important to her and she will be dearly missed by all of them. She is survived by four children, Sharon Rideout her husband and "Hazel's favorite son-in-law," Harry, of Hermon, Murray Sponberg of Presque Isle, Deryle Sponberg and his wife, Vicki, of Washburn, and Dr. Michael Sponberg of Hatboro, Pa. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Philip, Earl and Merle Swimm; and two sisters, Marjorie Hitchcock and Elsie Smith. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Ernest Sponberg and Robert Woodworth; an infant son; three brothers, James, Reuben and Walter Swimm; four sisters, Beulah Giberson, Mary Hewitt, Elva Hathaway and Ruth Swimm; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Sponberg; and a great-grandson, Gregory Luke Sponberg .. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, with the Rev. Michael Shaw officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of service. Interment will take place after the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.     Peacefully, surrounded with the love and support of his family, Merle Swimm passed from this life on Friday, July 3, 2015. He was in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Barb Swimm. Loving father of Ralph, B.C.; Hazel Snowden (R.J.), Florida; Angela Swimm (George), Brantford and Cameron Swimm, Toronto. Beloved grandfather of Darryl (Karen-Rose), Amanda, Hunter, Colby and Lauren, Angeline, Savanna and Andrew. Forever remembered by his siblings Earl (Florence), Marjorie Hitchcock and Elsie Smith. Predeceased by his brothers Reuben, Philip, James and sisters Beulah, Mary, Hazel and Elva. Merle will be dearly missed by his extended family and many dear friends. Merle and his brother Earl co-owned Swimm Brother's Building Contractors. Much of their success came from the support and guidance of Mike Dubecki Homes.

    Friends will be welcomed at the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 8th, 2015 at 11 am at Meadowood Pentecostal Church, 163 Brant Road (Hwy 24 North), Brantford (directly across from Witteveen Meats). Interment to follow in Oakhill Cemetery. In Merle's memory, donations made to the Hankinson House-Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

    It is with tremendous sorrow that we say goodbye to Wanetta Mary Carmichael who passed away suddenly at the Upper River Valley hospital July 29, 2023. Wanetta was born January 27, 1939 in Bath, NB to the late Samuel and Bulah Giberson , but was informally adopted by Mildred and Walter Swim at just days old. An only child in her adopted home, Wanetta had 9 biological siblings. Wanetta married Sterling Carmichael February 21, 1956. She was predeceased by her husband Sterling Carmichael, granddaughter Kiska Ruff, and great granddaughter Brianna Carmichael.

    The two had three children together, Vernon Carmichael, wife Avis Carmichael(Morgan), Rosalee Carmichael, and Leila Giberson husband Thomas Giberson. Wanetta leaves behind five grandchildren, Charlie Carmichael, Travis Ruff (Heather), Brandy Ruff, Christopher, and Sarah Giberson. Great grandchildren Keara Barrett, Emma Ruff, Addison Ruff, Indiana Ruff, Brandy Brown, Deidra Jinson, and Austin Drake. One great, great grandson Arthur Warren Timothy Smith. Wanetta was known for her unmatched work ethic.

    Beginning with McCain foods at the wage of $0.55/hr Wanetta could sometimes be seen walking the 9km to work a full manual labour shift on concrete floors in uncomfortable shoes. Including on more than one occasion, working to the point of fainting, being taken to hospital, released and returning to the very same shift to complete it. Wanetta loved working at McCain foods and regretted retiring, even with a full pension. There was no end to Wanetta’s countless years that she gave to McCain’s.

    Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 4-8 pm. A graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Hunter Cemetery. Donations made to DunRoamin, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
