    Obituary:
It is with profound sadness, that the family of Mahlon R. Davenport announces his passing at home; with his family at his side, on September 02, 2023. Mahlon is survived by his Second Love; his wife of 14 years, Karen. He was predeceased by his First Love; his wife Janis, of 37 years. Also predeceased by his parents; Myrtle(Ruff) and Clifton Davenport. Also one brother; Ernie and his wife, Pauline. He is also survived by his son; Andy and his beautiful, kind, loving wife; Tamara. Mahlon was so happy to welcome her into the family, in 2019. Also survived by 5 much-loved Grandchildren. Ethan, Emmit, Elliot, Isabella and Hunter. IN ANDY’S WORDS: It is a true gift to have someone part of your life, that is so full of love and support. My Dad was someone that was truly genuine, generous, honest and hardworking. A Dad that went out of his way to help someone. I am so proud to call him my Father and my Best Friend. Looking back; it’s hard to imagine Dad working full-time at McCain Foods Ltd. for 39 years, as well as working in the bakery with Mom and somehow, he never missed one of my hockey games, over the years. Later in life, he continued to support his family, by lending a helping hand; where and when needed. Or just be there to talk with, or ask for advice. The world was truly a better place, with him in it. “Grampy Mahlon!” Words can’t describe the love that he had for his Grandchildren. From the youngest to the oldest, they all want to be like Grampy. They all have the same big, loving, heart he had. They will forever cherish their time with him! Mahlon is also survived by 8 siblings; Darlene Paterson(Darrell), Neisha, Susan Giberson(Peter), Kim, Brian(Linda), Mack(Darla), Terry and Ricky. Toiling at McCain Foods Canada, for 39 years; he retired at 55 to be with his First Love; as she fought her own battle with cancer. Then came his Second Love; Karen, with whom he enjoyed his retirement years. His 3rd loves, were all his dogs he had, though-out the years. He leaves behind his much spoiled, Min Pins; Allie and Jack, who miss their daily cuddles and treats. He loved working with wood and built his own home in 1981. It was his happy place and he was very content to stay at home. He was a quiet man, who lived a quiet life; in the place he most loved to be. A Celebration of Life; hosted by his son, Andy, will be held at the L. R. Giberson Directors, on September 09, 2023, between 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. All are welcome! Orange was Mahlon’s favourite colour, if you wish to wear it. Also, write down a; “Mahlon,” story and it will be read aloud. If so desired, a donation in memory of Mahlon can be made to the Valley Food Bank or the Carleton County Animal Shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB. https://www.gibersonfuneraldirectors.ca/obituaries/172360
