    Obituary:Carvell Antworth passed away peacefully at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital on September 1st, 2020. Carvell was born November 9th, 1928 in Knoxford, NB. He was the only child of the late Leo and Clara (Gee) Antworth.Nothing was more important to Carvell than family. He will be missed by his loving wife, Shirley (Fowler), who he adored for over 65 years. He was a loving father to his son, John (Monica), Fredericton; daughters, Cynthia (John Evans), Innisfil, ON; Cathy (Rod Macintosh), Saint John; and Janet (Jeff Fidgen), Charters Settlement. He adored his grandchildren, Jacqueline (Stephen Langdon), Stephanie Evans, Emily Macintosh, Alec Macintosh (Chelsea Swain), Lauren Antworth, Sarah Craig, Jennifer Craig; step-grandchildren Zachary and Caleb Fidgen. He took great delight in his great-grandchildren, Chace and Calleigh Langdon, Keagan Hinton and Noah Evans, Landon and Mina Macintosh.Carvell received his early education in Summerfield before moving to Saint John to attend high school. After graduating from Saint John High School, Carvell attained his BSc in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University. Carvell practiced in retail pharmacy for a number of years and then managed the pharmacy at the Victoria Public Hospital. In 1973, Carvell opened a Shoppers Drug Mart in Nashwaaksis, which he operated until his retirement in 1989.Carvell always had a great passion for the outdoors and for nearly 50 years enjoyed fishing, hunting and the camaraderie of his friends and family at the Bear Brook Camp on the Little Tobique River. Carvell had a wonderful sense of humour and was well known for his unparalleled organizational skills. He was very creative and was always thinking of ingenious ways to repurpose things. Carvell also enjoyed woodworking in his retirement. He was an avid reader and had great fun playing various card and board games. He enjoyed bird watching and filled the backyard with numerous birdhouses and feeders. Carvell took many camping trips with his family and together he and Shirley travelled the globe, making new friends and wonderful memories along the way.Carvell was a member of the Capital Winter Club for many years. He was a great believer in giving back to the community and volunteered his time to many worthy organizations. He was president of the NB Pharmaceutical Association and a member of the Council of Delegates for the Canadian Pharmaceutical Association. He was a recipient of the AH Robbins Bowl of Hygeia Award, President of the Fredericton North Rotary Club, and a member of The United Commercial Travellers. Carvell was very passionate about politics and was a life member of the Progressive Conservative Party of NB.A memorial service will be held at Bishops Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Rd, Fredericton, on September 19th, 2020 at 2pm. Social distancing measures will be in effect and all attendees are required to wear a mask. (Limited seating.
