The death of Leota Carmen Butterfield occurred on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Born December 3, 1920 in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Melissa (VanDine) Giggie. She was also predeceased by her husband, Russell; 2 sons, Warren and Roy as well as several brothers and sisters.
Leota is survived by 3 children, Dean Butterfield (Charlene), Dwight Butterfield (Linda), Marsha Denny (Mike); 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 brother, Vaughn Giggie as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors,207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 6-8 pm. Born in Bristol, Claudia was the daughter of Lemuel and Melissa (Vandine) Giggie. Claudia is survived by her husband Paul, daughters, Paulette (Raymond) Crabbe, Carol Chase (Ken Brown), Rhonda (Alan) Poynton and Patti Chase all of Bristol, sons, David (Connie) of Armond, James (Teresa) of Red Deer, AB, John (Barbie) of Minnesota, Robert (Robyn) of Keswick Ridge and Michael (Karen) of Halifax, 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister, Liota Butterfield and brothers, Alva and Vaughn Giggie. It is with sadness that we announce the death of Robert Paul Chase, of Fredericton, NB that occurred on May 1, 2019. Born on September 22, 1958 in Bath, NB, he was the son of the late Paul & Claudia (Giggie) Chase.
Robert is survived by his two daughters, Karli Farnham (Tristan) and Ashley Chase; their mother, Robyn Chase; three sisters, Paulette Crabbe (Raymond), Rhonda Poynton (Alan) and Patti Chase; four brothers, David (Connie), Jamie (Teresa), John (Barbie), and Michael (Karen); close friends Chad, Anne, Kiran and Amar Bhardwaj; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for Carol will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville, on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Oral McAffee officiating. Interment will be in the Bristol Community Cemetery.

We wish to announce, with sadness, the passing of James (Jim) Henry Oakes. It occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital on September 13, 2023.
Jim was born in Bath on May 31, 1951 to Lester and Mary (Whitehouse) Oakes. He is survived by Janice Oakes, his two sons James Michael, (Stephanie Grant), and Darrin Scot Foster (Stephanie Caldwell), three grandchildren Vivian Oakes, Olivia and Thomas Foster. Also many nieces and nephews.
Jim graduated from Bath Regional High School in 1969, after which he joined his father Lester and brother Earl on the LF. Oakes Farm in Holmesville. The trucking industry was also a calling for Jim. He was well known and devoted many years to this profession.
At Jim’s request there will be a private graveside service, and interment will be in Bristol Community Cemetery.

Jim loved and lived life to the fullest. He will be missed.

The death of Donald Freeman Giberson of Johnville occurred on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Upper River Valley Hospital , Waterville. Born April 3, 1927 in Holmesville he was the son of the late Wilmot and Izetta (Oakes) Giberson. He was also predeceased by his son, Brian; 1 great grand daughter, Dahlia; 5 siblings, Lewis Giberson, Dorothy Browning, Leola Kearney, Vivian Kearney and Marion Gibbons.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Phyllis; 6 children, Madonna DeMerchant (Murray), Dwayne Giberson (Helen), Terry Giberson (Beverly), Sonia Ruff (Calvin), Tina Moore (Dana) and Lana Black (Marc); 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Don was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 3-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Holmesville Free Will Baptist Church. The interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
