    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of John Edward Cogswell of East Centreville, NB that occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville on Tuesday, November 29th after a brief stay in palliative care at the age of 85.
    John was the son of the late Walter and Florence (White) Cogswell of East Centreville. Born September 20, 1937, John attended school in Centreville and then went to study at the Maritime College of Forest Technology in Fredericton. After his graduation, he took a job in St. Croix with Georgia Pacific, later moving to East Centreville to work at HJ Crabbe & Sons for 26 years until his retirement.
    In addition to his day job, John ran a hobby farm with beef cattle and sheep. His spare time was filled with farm chores. He could "fix" anything with some baler twine! In later life, when unable to farm, his hobbies we're reading, colouring, listing to CBC radio, letting the cat Marmalade in and out multiple times each day and watching "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune". He was an avid Burger King supporter the last few years eating a bacon cheeseburger each day.

    John was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Fred and his wife Pat, his sister Mary and her husband Charlie and their son and his wife Malcolm and Sandra Cammack, his niece's husband James Forsythe and his niece Carmen Robinson.

    He is survived by his wife of 50 years Rhoda (nee Drew) and their daughters, Sarah of Florenceville-Bristol, Sally (Don Harborne) of Grand Manan and Linda (Kevin Armishaw) of Winnipeg, one granddaughter, Ara as well as his niece Kathleen Forsythe of Ladysmith, BC and great nephew David Forsythe (Laura) and daughter Harris of Winnipeg as well as sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews by marriage and many cousins.

    By John's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will be held. Memorial donations can be made in John's memory to the Extra Mural Program or a charity of the donor's choice.

    The family would like to thank the Extra Mural nurses from Perth who visited the house as well as the doctors at nurses at the Upper River Valley Hospital for their assistance during his stay in palliative care.

    Dr. Fred Cogswell, CM- beloved father, grandfather and friend of poets, died peacefully in Royal Columbian Hospital after a short illness. He was born Nov. 8, 1917 in East Centreville, New Brunswick and is survived by one brother, John Cogswell of East Centreville,N.B. and his family, daughter Kathleen Forsythe, grandson, David Forsythe and his wife Satoko and Fred's great grandson, Ryu, son in law, Graham Robinson, all of Vancouver, BC, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces and many friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Margaret ( Hynes) his third wife , Adele (Anningson) and his daughter, Carmen. Fred will be sadly missed by the thousands of lives he influenced as a wonderful professor and teacher at the University of New Brunswick for over 30 years, as the Editor of Fiddlehead magazine, the publisher of Fiddlehead Books and as a mentor and friend to hundreds of poets and writers. Fred was a prolific poet and published over 40 titles of his own work. Fred was awarded the Order of Canada for his contribution to Canadian literature and his work as a translator of French Canadian poetry. Fred served overseas with the Forestry Corps from 1940-45, held a PhD from the University of Edinburgh plus several honorary doctorates. A celebration of his life and work service will be held at his home at 7028 17th. Ave. Burnaby, an additional Memorial Service will be held in New Brunswick in late September.     It is with deep sorrow that the family of Malcolm Cammack announces his passing at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB, on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Born on January 31, 1943 in Bath NB, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Cogswell) Cammack of Centerville, NB.

    Malcolm will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Sandra (Kirkpatrick) Cammack.

    Malcolm graduated from Centerville Regional High School in 1960, and Maritime Forest Ranger School in Fredericton in 1966. He worked for NB Power for ten years, and as an electrician at UNB’s Fredericton Campus until his retirement in 1998.

    He had a number of canine companions over the years. He truly enjoyed puttering in his backyard shop, bowling, being a member of the legion, an amateur DJ at the Canadian Order of Foresters, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling from his camp near Glassville, and travelling around with a group of RV campers in the summer.

    Malcolm enjoyed his retirement immensely, attending Speedway 660 in the summer, on weekends and spending winters golfing and playing shuffleboard in Florida.

    At Malcolm’s request, there will be no service or visitation. Cremation has taken place. For those who wish, donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, or an act of kindness may be expressed to another.
