    Bessie M. Rideout of Hartland passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville. She was born April 23, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie Kinney. She was predeceased by her husband Max, son, Danny and 15 brothers and sisters.

    Bessie is survived by her children, Barbara (Anthony) Cullins of Howard Brook, Lloyd Rideout of Mainstream, Jessie (Michael) Smalley of Florenceville, Cecil (Valerie) Rideout of Hartland, Doris (Bernard) Stewart of Ashland; grandchildren, Scott (Kristine) Cullins, Timothy (Amy) Cullins, Jason Rideout, Cora-Lee Sabattis, Michael Rideout, Daniel Billings, Jeffrey Smalley, Karen (Zak) Hargrove, Amanda (Brad) Dickinson, Melissa (Todd) Manuel, Justin (Kerry Culberson) Stewart, Joshua Burke; 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; several nieces and nephews.

    Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Horsman officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland. If so desired, donations can be made in Bessie’s memory to the Greenwood Cemetery. www.brittonfh.ca

    It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jessie Dolores Smalley of Greenfield, which occurred on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at her home. Jessie was born on November 12, 1953 in Woodstock. She was the daughter of the late Max and Bessie (Kinney) Rideout. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Danny and Lloyd.

    Jessie is survived by her husband, Michael; 2 children, Jeff Smalley (Andrea) and Karen Hargrove (Zakary); 4 beloved grandchildren, Molly, Elliot, Ethan and Kathryn; 3 siblings Barb Cullins (Tony), Cecil Rideout and Doris Stewart (Bernard) as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

    Jessie will be forever remembered in our hearts as the kindest, caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

    Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 4-8 pm. A funeral will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Andy DeRier will officiate. The interment will be in the Greenfield Cemetery. Donations to be made to the Greenfield Cemetery or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
