    Obituary:

    Elmer George Briggs of Bristol passed away, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Born September 29, 1919 in Bristol he was the son of the late William and Mary Jane (Woodcock) Briggs.
    By occupation he followed in his father's footsteps, in that, in his younger years, he owned and operated a sawmill and spent his life in lumbering. After retiring he spent many hours in wood working and turned out many beautiful pieces.
    He was also predeceased by his wife, Helen (Perkins); and three brothers, Wallace, Russell and Warren.
    Elmer is survived by his three daughters,Elaine Briggs of Riverview, NB,Anne Derrah(Russell) of Oakville,ON and Paula Crabbe(Harold) of Bristol, NB; five grandchildren, Bill, Karen (Jonathan), Jennifer, Sarah (Abe) and Susan (Cameron); seven great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Colin, Andrew, Trevor, Malcolm, Kieran and Ethan; three sisters, Pauline Griffin,Betty Hayward and Joan Lunn, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held from Faith Memorial United Church on Saturday, August 29,2015 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Rev. Susan Estabrooks will officiate. A private interment will follow at the Glassville United Church Cemetery.
