Thomas ALLAN
Abt 1836 - 1873 (~ 37 years)1. Thomas ALLAN was born about 1836 in Scotland; died in 1873 in Glassville, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada; was buried in 1873 in United Church Cemetery, Glassville, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada. Notes:
"The first church has been built and is being used and a new cemetery
acquired. There have been deaths in the community. The first to die was John
Mcintosh, in 1866. He left a young widow and two small boys. He was only 45
years of age. He was buried on his homestead pending the establishing of a
cemetery. He was reinterred in the GlassviUe Cemetery in 1926. John Ritchie
was the first to be interred in the new cemetery in February 1868. He was 31
years of age and left a young wife. The next young man to succumb was
Thomas Allan who died in April 1873 leaving a young wife and small children"

Thomas brought his young wife, Elizabeth, with him. They
may have been married shortly before leaving Scotland. The two brothers were
located on adjoining lots, #63 and #65, between Hector Mcintosh and Edward
Martin.

Thomas Allan remained on the homestead, clearing land and "making a farm". Four children were born, two sons and two daughters. Thomas Allan died
in 1873. The youngest daughter was given the name Thomasina, generally shortened to Ina. She may have been born after her father died.
William Curry, born in Ireland, settled in GlassviUe on Lot 54, Range 2.
His first wife, Agnes, was born in Scotland. Eight children were born of this
union. Agnes Curry died in 1887, when her youngest child was nine years old.
At this time, Eliza Allan, still a widow and still living on the lot granted to Thomas
Allan (#65), was ready to take on new responsibilities. Eliza Allan and William
Curry were married about 1888.

HUDSON - Mary Helen (Allan) Churchill, 90, of Hudson, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at UMass Memorial Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough.
She was the wife of the late Winston Churchill.
Born in Glassville, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George and Ellen Munro (Young) Allan. She was raised in Glassville, N.B., and later lived in Natick, prior to moving to Hudson in 2002. She was a former school bus driver for Fells Taxi in Wellesley.
She enjoyed annual trips to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and returning to Glassville, N.B., with her son and daughter-in-law. She was especially thankful for the compassion and care she received from her daughter-in-law, Cathie, over the past five years.
She leaves her son, George H. Churchill and his wife, Cathie, of Hudson; her grandson, James W. Churchill; three nieces; and many great nieces and nephews in New Brunswick, Massachusetts and Florida.
She was the twin sister of J. Hilton Allan, who died in 2006, and sister of the late John "Jack" Allan and Howard Allan, and aunt of the late Winston and Hazen Allan.
Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St., Hudson, MA 01749.

The death of Dorothy Irene Laing, of Glassville, occurred October 20, 2010 at her home. Born March 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Annie (Brown) Allan.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Roderic “Rod”; 4 sons, Allan (Sharon), Dale (Pam), John (Joyce) and Francis (Krista); 10 grandchildren, Tina, Heather, Greg, Jason, Anthony, Angel, Bianca, Kelsey, Jared and Jordan; 11 great grandchildren, Hazel, Jacob, Diana, Catherine, Brittnay, Brooke, Hayden, Jacob, Jessie, Jaycey and Marrissa; 2 sisters, Winnifred Williams and Margaret White.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, 1 son Keith, as well as 2 brothers, Winston and Hazen.
Visitation will be held from L. R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd., Florenceville on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. The death of Ena Winnifred Williams “Winnie” of Bristol occurred on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, Perth Andover. Born in Centre Glassville on February 27, 1929 she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Brown) Allan. She was also predeceased by her husband, Charles Williams; 2 brothers, Winston and Hazen Allan; 1 sister, Dorothy Laing.
Winnie is survived by 1 sister, Margaret White (Donnie); 12 nieces and nephews, Gailen Allan, Ricky Allan, Chris Allan, Sandra Allan and their families, Alan Laing, Dale Laing, John Laing, Francis Laing and their families, Kimberly O`Connell, Sue Cascelli, Leslie White, Dr. Jason White and their families.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gerald Blaquiere and Rev. Mary Taylor officiating.
