Albert Perry LYON

Notes:

Albert (Bert) was the son of William and Jane Taylor Lyon ,who came from Scotland to Woodstock in 1866, bringing their four children with them. About 1869 they bought lot 26 from Richard Pearson, in the very new settlement of Glassville. About 10 acres of the farm were already cleared. More children were born here including "Bert", who lived his entire life on the progressively developed farm, raising cattle and growing potatoes. He married Dorothy Guthrie and they had eight children--six sons and two daughters. Four of their sons are buried in the two Glassville cemeteries, the other four are in the following places, Helen (Nellie) died in Presque Isle, Dorothy died in Nanaimo BC and buried in Salmonhurst Corner, Edwin (Ned) died in Victoria BC and buried in Saanich and Glenn died in Portland Oregon. BRINKMAN, DOROTHY MARGUERITE - Dorothy M. Brinkman, R.N., 88 of Grand Falls, N.B. passed away peacefully at Nanaimo, B.C. on Friday, September 10, 2004 after a long illness. Dorothy graduated as an R.N. at the Madagan Hospital in Houlton, Maine, after specialized training in nursing at St. Michaels in Toronto, Buffalo General, and Foundling Hospital, New York City. She nursed in Toronto, Saint John, Bath, and Grand Falls. She was a dedicated nurse and was dearly loved by her patients. Funeral service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church in Grand Falls on Saturday, September 18th at 2.00 pm, with Pastor Julie Armstrong will conduct the service. Interment following at St. Ansgars Anglican Cemetery in New Denmark beside her first husband Aubrey. By request, no flowers. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or donor's choice. Notes:

Ted grew up on a farm in New Brunswick, with five brothers and two sisters. He enlisted in the R C A F and was posted to Pat Bay Air Base for the duration of the war. When the war ended, he bought property in Saanichton and raised sheep until poor health forced him to quit.
He married Jean Sinclair in Dec 1953, they had three children, John (Barbara), Mary (Mike O'Neil) and Gordon.

Vaughan E. LyonThe death of Vaughan Eugene Lyon of Glassville occurred on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Born January 7, 1928 he was the son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Guthrie) Lyon. He was also predeceased by his wife, Reta (Kelley) Lyon; 1 daughter, Kiska; 1 son, Kevin; 7 siblings, Dean, Don, Nellie, Bob, Ned, Dorothy and Glen.

Vaughan is survived by his son, Kelly (Vicki); 7 grandchildren, Josh, Jody, Brody, Isaac, Eric, Matthew and Karl (Natalie); 1 great grandson, Bentley as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Vaughan was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

The death of Norman Albert Lyon formerly of Juniper occurred on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, Perth Andover, NB. Norman was born January 28, 1948 in Bath, NB and was the son of the late Dean and Marjorie (Brown) Lyon. He was also predeceased by his wife Helen in 2014.

Kiska is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, John; 2 children, Josh Stephenson (Brittany Squires) and Jody Stephenson; father, Vaughan Lyon; 2 brothers, Kevin Lyon (Elaine Smith) and Kelly Lyon (Vicki Black) and many nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her mother, Reta Lyon.
