    Notes:

    The death of Mattie Elizabeth (Gray) Martin, of the Loch Lomond Villa, occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, March 1, 1999. She was predeceased by her husband William G. Martin in 1969. Born in Beechwood, N.B, she was the daughter of the late John and Miriah (DeMerchant) Gray. In earlier years, she had worked at McCain Foods, but chose to devote most of her life to her family and friends. Mattie had an enthusiasm for life and enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She had been a member of the Anglican Church and the Women's Institute in Bath, N.B.

    Mattie is survived by a son Leroy and his wife Margaret, of Quispamsis, N.B.; four grandchildren: Bryan (Nancy) of Dallas, Texas; Brenda (Al) of Saskatoon; Gregory (Jackie) of Saint John and Brent, of Moosejaw; 9 great grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Brooks of Bath and a sister-in-law. She was predeceased by son Harold.

    By request of the family there was no visiting at the funeral home. A memorial service was held at Kilcollin's Funeral Home, Bath, N.B., on Fri., Mar. 5th, 1999 at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Gee Burial Ground, Bath, N.B., in the spring. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer's Society or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the Family.     Obituary of Leroy McKay Martin
    Leroy Martin of Quispamsis, husband of Margaret (Price) Martin, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2014 at Embassy Hall, surrounded by his family. Born in Bath, Carleton Co., he was a son of the late William and Mattie Martin. Leroy worked for NBTel for 41 years, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. His passions included golf, curling, hunting, gardening, and music. Leroy also taught clogging and line dancing at the Continental Country Club.

    He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret, sons Bryan (Nancy) of Dallas, TX, Greg (Jackie) of Saint John, and Brent (Beatrice) of Riyadh, KSA, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Leroy was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda, grandson, Jamie Allen, as well as brother, Harold, in infancy. The family would like to thank the staff of Embassy Hall for their compassionate care during Leroy's time with them, and to Pastor John Dunnett for his support.

    Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Alzheimer's Society, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
