    It is with deep sadness that the family of Brent Samuel Elkins announces that he passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024 at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family. Brent was born in Bath NB on June 5 1952, the son of the late Samuel and Dora (Schriver) Elkins of Gordonsville NB. Brent was also predeceased by his brothers, Hugh and Donald Elkins.

    Brent leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Valerie, 2 sons Samuel (Saphire) of Alberta , Conway (Stephanie) of Upper Kingsclear, 5 grandchildren Aspen, Nickolas, Abigail, Mary & Sarah, and one great grandson Axton, sisters Brenda Elkins & Cindy Bushby, sister in laws, brother in law, nephews , nieces , cousins & many friends.

    Brent lived with his family in Gordonsville NB for the first 48 years of his life, then moved West to Alberta in 2000 where he continued to work in the forest industry moving equipment & hauling logs. Brent and Valerie lived there until 2018 when they returned East to retire in Woodstock, NB. In his “retirement” Brent continued to work part time driving for Day & Ross.

    Brent drove truck all his life and he loved every minute of it. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & most of all he loved teasing his family & friends. He cherished his grandchildren and they cherished “Grampy” right back. He was so proud of his sons whom he taught the value of hard work, and they were equally proud of the example he set for them. He was a loving husband to “Val” who was the center of his life, a good father, grandfather, brother, uncle, & friend.

    Respecting Brent’s wishes there will be no formal visitation nor funeral service.

    The family wishes to extend a very special thanks to Dr. Kelly, all of the nurses in the oncology department in Upper River Valley Hospital, all of the Extra Mural Nurses that came to help Brent through this process. Everyone was so good to Brent through his 3 year battle, he fought hard & stayed positive right up to the end.

    In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation in memory of Brent please consider the River Valley Cancer Support Group. Your contributions will support vital research and services aimed at combating cancer and aiding those affected by it. This gesture would honor Brent's memory and help continue the fight against cancer.

    The death of Donald Ralph Elkins of Gordonsville occurred on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the River View Manor, Bath. Born May 18, 1942 in Gordonsville he was the son of Dora (Schriver) Elkins and the late Samuel Elkins. He was also predeceased by 1 brother, Hugh John Elkins and 1 brother in law, Allan Bushby.

    Don is survived by his mother, Dora; 2 sisters, Brenda Elkins and Cindy Bushby; 1 brother, Brent Elkins (Valerie); sister in law Ruth Elkins; nieces and nephews, Sam Elkins, Conway Elkins (Stephanie), Amy Dunham, Sara Bushby (Joel), Stephen Elkins, Andrea Toner (Bill) and Jennifer Elkins (Robert); great nieces and nephews, Aspen, Nicholas, Abigail, Mary, Sarah, Marissa, Brysen and Samantha.

    Visitation will be held L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 3-5 pm. A funeral service will follow at 5:30 pm. Pastor Vaughn Palin will officiate. Interment will be in the Gordonsville Community Cemetery at a later date.     Hugh J. Elkins of 214 Canterbury Drive, Fredericton was promoted to Heaven on November 24, 2004 at the age of 70. Born on November 18, 1934, Hugh spent his early years in Gordonsville, NB and graduated from Bristol High School in June 1954. He was saved in a revival meeting in Bristol by Rev. Daniel Pike and Rev. Jack MacKenzie in 1951. In early years, he was a member of the Privitive Baptist Conference and preached in several Primitive Baptist churches.
    Hugh graduated from Teacher's College in 1955, obtained a Bachelor of Teaching degree from UNB in 1964 as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968. He taught school for 35 years in various locations, spending the last 25 years of his career in the Fredericton area.

    He enjoyed the outdoors and did a bit of farming, most notably strawberries and Christmas trees. A member of the First Wesleyan Church in Fredericton, Hugh enjoyed Beulah Camp and his cottage at Browns Flat with his wife and family for over 40 years. Next to God, his family was the love of his life, as were his many friends. Hugh is survived by his wife, Ruth Marie Morgan (whom he married on June 30,1961); his son, Stephen John; his daughters Andrea Ruth Toner (Bill) and Jennifer Margaret (Robert Etheridge) and, his granddaughter, Samantha Margaret. He is also survived by his step-mother, Dora Elkins; two sisters, Brenda Elkins and Cindy Bushby (Allan); two brothers, Donald Elkins and Brent Elkins (Valerie); his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, June Morgan Greer (Eugene), Rev. William Morgan (Elsie) Irvine Glen Morgan (Bertha), nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Hazel (Lovely) Elkins, in 1938, and by his father, Samuel Elkins, in 1974.

    Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at 1ST Wesleyan Church, on Friday from 7-9 pm. The memorial service will be held at First Wesleyan Church, 131 Duncan Lane, Fredericton, on Saturday November 27, 2004 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Karl Ingersoll and Rev. Norman Trafton officiating. Interment to follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery in Gordonsville, NB at a later date. Honourary pallbearers are:Warren McNamara; Ron Davidson; Blake Collins; Arnold Good; Fraser McHatten; Willard Crawford; Ivan Fawcett; Royce Stewart; Doug Coates; Brian Barnes; Robert Black; Rev. Les Hicks; Cecil Jackson; and, Alton McCrea.
