    1919-2012

    The death of Clarence J. McIntosh of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Born in Glassville, NB he was the son of the late Wesley and Margaret McIntosh and husband of Jessie (Kerr) McIntosh.

    Clarence was a proud farmer for over 50 years and also served his country in WWII. He was a longtime member of the Glassville United Church, serving as the Sunday School Superintendent and an Elder of the church. In recent years, he was a member of Wilmot United Church, the Wilmot Book Club and Stepping Stones.

    Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Allan and Edward and sisters, Agnes and Jean.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Jessie; his children, Keith (Joyce MacEacheron) and Shiona McIntosh (Steve Christie) all of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Kaleigh, Will and Catriona McIntosh and Breagh, Meaghan and Mairi Christie as well as his sisters, Edna Cunningham (Carl) of Dartmouth, NS and Edith Park (Larry) of Presque Isle, Maine, USA and a large extended family of nieces and nephews and their children.

    A memorial service will be held at Wilmot United Church on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Rev. Rose-Hannah Gaskin will officiate.     CUNNINGHAM, Edna (née McIntosh) Passed away peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital on January 23, 2018. Born in 1928 in the small country village of Glassville NB, Mom was the second youngest of seven children and always had the support of a loving family. Early years were spent on the farm, with early education in the local one-room school house. With the help of relatives, she was able to board during the week to attend high school in Bath, NB, where she graduated in 1945 with the distinction of being class Valedictorian. After high school, she trained as a Registered Nurse at the St John General Hospital and spent several years working in NB and ON. She graduated from the Public Health Nursing Program at Dalhousie University in 1955. While working in Saint Andrews, NB, she met our Dad, and they married a year later in her home town. They moved to Dartmouth and she worked briefly before taking on the full-time job of “Mom.” When we were older, she returned to the nursing profession, working several years at the Ocean View Manor in Eastern Passage before retiring in 1986. Mom was a long-time member of the UCW at Woodlawn United Church, and after retirement she volunteered at the IWK and the school breakfast program. She loved nature and being outdoors: up until several years ago, she could be seen with her group of lady friends out for a daily walk and a stop for coffee.She and our dad took in fitness classes with Top Hats & Roses, attended matinees at the theatre, enjoyed dining out, took tours to Norway, France, and the UK, and loved time spent with their grandchildren. Mom was a very sincere, lovely person with a beautiful smile and a desire to help others. Family and friends were very important in her life. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Carl; daughter Ann (Craig Miller); son Gregg (Kathy Porter-Cunningham); grandchildren Bryan, Ainsley, Joëlle, and Mélina; sister Edith Park, and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by parents Wesley & Margaret McIntosh; and siblings Edward, Allan, Clarence, Agnes and Jean. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of 3 West in Dartmouth General Hospital, Always Home Homecare and Janet Goode for their loving care in her final days. A visitation will be held at the A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home (217 Portland St, Dartmouth) on Monday, January 29th from 7-9pm. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, January 30th at 10:00am at the Woodlawn United Church in Dartmouth.     Fraser John McIntosh (May 3, 1917-December 30, 2003) at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock. Husband of sixty years to Edith (Hanson) and a life long resident of Bath, other than time spent teaching on Deer Island (where he met Edith) and in military service during WWII. Employed for many years by the NBEPC during the construction of the Beechwood and Mactaquac dams and for several years by the Dept. of Municipal Affairs in Woodstock giving him an extensive knowledge of the Saint John River Valley from Grand Falls to Fredericton. Fraser enjoyed a life-long interest of the history of New Brunswick, especially its small communities, rivers and forests, and was a life-time breeder of purebred Hereford cattle. Fraser is survived by his wife Edith, daughters, Margaret (Frank) Ashe of Rothesay and Ann McIntosh of St. Andrews, son John of Kenneth, granddaughters, Ellen and Erin Ashe, sisters Jennie Lockhart of Madison, WI, Alice Blake of Nash Creek, NB, Ernestine Trenholm of Port Elgin, NB and Murray, KY, and Eva Wetmore of Murray, KY, sister-in-law Mildred McIntosh of Florenceville, several nieces, nephews and cousins.     Elsie Elizabeth McIntosh of Glassville passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Mount Haven Special Care Home in Glassville. She was born July 8, 1930 and was the daughter of the late William and Mary McIntosh. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Fraser, and her brother-in-law, Angus Fraser.

    Elsie was a school teacher for the Province of New Brunswick for 35 years, 28 of those years being at the Hartland High School. Elsie was also involved in many organizations; the Girl Guides, The Naturalist Club of New Brunswick, The Canadian Nature Federation, the UCW both in Glassville and Hartland, and the I.O.D.E.

    Elsie is survived by her brother Gerald (Sandra) McIntosh; sister. Mary (Paul) Campbell; nieces and nephews.

    The death of Frederick "Fred" Douglas McIntosh, of Bath, occurred on April 16, 2020 at the Edmunston Regional Hospital. Born on October 23, 1953, he was the son of the late Douglas and Margaret (Davies) McIntosh. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law, Douglas Foran.

    Fred is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy; three children- Fred McIntosh, Lance McIntosh (Deana), and Alisha Peterson (Curtis); 12 grandchildren, Brittney, Kearstyn, Madison, Noah, Hannah, Caitlyn, Finnian, Lochlan, Griffin, Aibhlinn, Delaney, and Eilidh; one sister- Lilyan Kenny (Bill); mother-in-law, Florence Foran; and several nieces and nephews.

    Fred leaves behind a legacy of long haul truck driving that he was extremely proud of. As a driver for 40 plus years he has met many people who have so many cherished memories of him. The colleagues and professional drivers that he has met along the way, will miss his knowledge and humour greatly.
    When not behind the wheel of his 18 wheeler, he enjoyed his time spent at home. As an avid reader, Fred was rarely without the latest novel from his favourite authors. He loved to watch his grandchildren grow and learn. And when time allowed he loved to sit down to a good game of crib or 45s. He was notorious for his blind 30 for 60, and making it! He also created many loving bonds with those whose were close to his family. He will be greatly missed as a loving husband, father, papa and friend.

    There will be no public visitation at this time. A celebration of Fred's life will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Wharton Cemetery in Upper Kent at a later date. Les is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Kay (nee Sprague), 3 children; Karen Brown (Stuart), Janice McIntosh and Michael McIntosh (Billie Jo); 6 grandchildren, Michelle, Zachary, Kennedy, Terry, Ryan and Sawyer; 1 great grand daughter, Breanna; son in law, Allen Gaunce; 5 siblings, Winston McIntosh (Sheila), Robert McIntosh (Phyllis), Henry McIntosh (Ellen), Fred McIntosh (Jo Anne), Joyce McIntosh and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

    Les was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and he was a great lover of animals.
    Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 10 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Oral McAffee officiating. Interment will be in the Burntland Brook Cemetery.     OBITUARY

    Arnold Winston McIntosh, 82, of Woodstock NB passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Upper River Valley Hospital Waterville NB. Arnold was born in Wicklow NB on August 2, 1936 son of the late Eldon and Letitia McIntosh.

    Arnold is survived by his wife, Sheila McIntosh, daughters, Anita Trecartin (Larry), Charlene Haughn (Robert), granddaughters, Erica (Jeff), Shawna (Daniel), great grandchildren, Aria, Connor, sister, Joyce, brothers, Robert (Phyllis), Henry (Ellen), Frederick (Joanne), nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by brothers, Allen, Ronald and Leslie.

    Visitation will be held for family and close friends at The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville NB on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 6 PM to 8 PM. A public funeral service for Arnold will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 3 PM from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will be held in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Carleton County Animal Shelter.
