Martin Hale married, date and place unknown, Huldah Dickinson, who was born 8 October 1811, if the data on her gravestone is to be believed. Huldah was the daughter of Arden Dickinson and his wife Sarah, daughter of Tamberlain and Hester (Cunnabell) Campbell. She died 19 October 1883, aged 72 years 11 days, according to her gravestone in the Lower Brighton Cemetery. Martin Hale predeceased her on 29 June 1861, aged 63 years, and is buried beside her.
The children of Martin and Huldah (Dickinson) Hale were:
1. William H. Hale, born 3 October 1829, died 15 February 1891 and buried in the Pembroke Cemetery, Northampton Parish, Carleton County. He married on 10 January 1856 Esther Tedlie, the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Tedlie.
2. Elizabeth Hale, born 14 October 1831 at Newburg, died 17 September 1887. Elizabeth married 15 April 1852 John Tedlie, brother of Esther.
