Glassville (Carleton Co.) Dec. 1887 - Two girls, Misses MANN are off to California to join their father who went west early in the Spring, leaving wife and family to follow him as soon as possible. It will be remembered that shortly after Mr. Mann left, a great misfortune overtook his family - the loss of a house, clothing and provisions by fire. Mr. Mann has succeeded well in the land of his adoption and his once happy household will be speedily re-united.
