      George Edward Drier
      May 28, 1945 - September 28, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Edward Drier of Florenceville- Bristol on Sept 28, 2025, at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB.
George was born in Bristol, NB on May 28, 1945.

George was predeceased by his father Ransford Drier, mother Viva (Curtis), brothers Jimmy Drier, Edgar Drier, sister in-law Donna Drier (Fogarty), brother in-law Charlie Sharpe and a very special man, Uncle Jerry Curtis, the man that raised him from a young age due to the passing of his parents.

He is survived by his wife Starr, children Cherie Neckoway (Dave), Scott Drier (Shelley), grandchildren Brandon Drier (Kate), Jordan Drier (Adrienne Thornton), Zoe Neckoway, sisters Anne Hathaway (Henry) and Jeannie Sharpe.

George had a successful career at McCain Foods for close to 40 years and during that time he made many close friends whom he stayed in contact with after retirement.

George loved his family and was always available to help with anything, no matter how big or small, you could always depend on him to be there. George spent many weekends travelling to hockey arenas and baseball fields across the province watching his grandsons play sports. He enjoyed having quality time getting to know his granddaughter after she moved to Bristol. They spent time telling each other stories and sharing their love for animals. He was a huge Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Bluejays fan.

George also loved picking Fiddleheads and being known for having the cleanest in Carleton County. What started out as picking for family members and a few elderly friends became much bigger over the years to the point he had over one hundred people reaching out. He was still picking this spring; you just couldn’t keep him away.

In keeping with George’s wishes, there will not be a public visitation or funeral service. Cremation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

If so desired, donations can be made in George’s memory to the charity of your choice.
