Richard Deane McBride
1932 - 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Deane McBride of Woodstock, NB announce his passing at Carleton Manor on January 17, 2023 at the age of 90.
Richard was born on July 15, 1932 in Woodstock, NB to Ralph and Josie (Harris) McBride. He joined the Armed Forces at the age of 17 and retired in 1970 after serving 21 years with the military. He then was employed with Canada Customs until his retirement at the age of 55.
Richard was an avid outdoors man. In his retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and downhill skiing with his grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Ralph, his mother Josie, his brothers Donald, Albert, Herbert, David, Clinton and Arnold, his baby daughter Judith Lee, and grandson Craig Kitchen.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary (Wright), daughters Judy Kitchen (Jamie) and Janet MacQuarrie (Dale).
Grandchildren Chris Kitchen, Barbie and Rick MacQuarrie.
Great- Grandchildren Rylee, Easton, and Connor Kitchen.
Brothers, Allison, Earl, Ronald, Gary, Terry, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard’s family would like to thank the staff of Carleton Manor for the love, care, and support provided to him while he was a resident.
Funeral service for Richard McBride will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Woodstock Baptist Church, Woodstock, NB with Rev. Leonard Cousins officiating and assisted by Rev. Craig Woodcock.
Interment will be at Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Carleton Manor Foundation
