Elwyn Harold Crouse
1932 - 2013
With sad hearts we announce the passing of Elwyn Harold Crouse of Hanwell, NB on June 24, 2013. He was born in Coldstream, NB on September 25 1932.
He worked for the department of transportation for years keeping our roads safe.
In his retirement he took up golf and when he couldn't play he watched. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. There are many stories of the great times had (some stretched and some not). When he could no longer hunt or fish he enjoyed and looked forward to the stories of the secret fishing holes and the ‘great’ moose hunts that were shared with him by his boys and grandchildren.
In his final years you could find him "supervising" any jobs that needed to be done, playing on the computer, playing cribbage with his daughters and tending to his dog. That dog ate well.
Above all else, he was happiest when he was surrounded by family.
The family gives many many thanks to his nurses at 4E in his final days. They were remarkable. The family also thanks Donna Calhoun his care worker who always brightened his day and gave him so much dignity.
In addition to his parents, Myles and Gertrude (Grant), He was predeceased by his wife, Myrna (Liston), his daughter Bonita Waite and two brothers Winston and Larry.
He leaves behind 6 children, Murray (Wanda) of Upper Kingsclear, Brian (Wanda) of Hanwell, Debbie (Peter) Duncan of Fredericton, Michael (Heather) of Millet, Alberta, Gordon (Debbie) of Maugerville, and Susan (Westley) Arbeau Hanwell;
31 Grandchildren Murray (Tracy), Nicole (Derek) Logan, Lee (Christina), Adam (Sharon), Steven (Amy), Ryan, Daniel, Tabitha Johnson, Bradley (Deanna) Duncan,
Jennifer Duncan, Robbie (Leah) Duncan, Erin (Phil), Josh (Erin), Kaitland (Daryl), Jeffrey (Rachael), Shawn (Ashley), Dean, Ashley, Tara, Kailie and 26 great grandchildren.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton with visitation on Wednesday June 26, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday June 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Basil Lowry officiating. Interment will follow at the St. James Presbyterian Cemetery in Hanwell, NB.
Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Upper Kingsclear Fire Department would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Pallbearers, both active and honorary will be Murray Jr. Crouse, Lee Crouse, Adam Crouse, Steven Crouse, Ryan Crouse, Daniel Crouse, Bradley Duncan, Robbie Duncan, Dean Crouse, Erin Crouse, Tara Arbeau.
