- Obituary:
Gerald B. Shaw, 89, of Hartland, N.B. passed away at Veteran's Health Unit, 700 Priestman St., Fredericton, N.B., Sunday, December 7, 2003. He was born in Middle Simmonds, N.B. on February 4, 1914, the son of the late Dean Shaw and Blanch Shaw (Nevers). He graduated from Hartland High School and Radio College of Canada in Toronto. After serving in the Royal Canadian Airforce during World War II, he operated the following businesses, Shaw's Radio Electric in Hartland, Governor's Table Sporting Camps in Juniper, and Northern Wilderness Lodge in Plaster Rock. He is survived by his daughter Marilyn (George Fox) Shaw, son Richard (Donna) Shaw, grandchildren Christopher (Cassey) Kavars, Erin Shaw, Meagan Shaw; great grandchildren Brittney, Tiffiney, Chance; sisters Nadine (Malcolm) Graham, Amy (Robert) Littlejohns; brothers Cecil (Shirley) Shaw, Monte (Helen) Shaw, sister-in-law Ruby Shaw. He was predeceased by his wife Helen (Brown) Shaw, infant daughters Faye and Carol, sister Winnie Purcell, and brother Harold Shaw. The remains are resting at Britton Funeral Home, Hartland with visitation Wednesday evening 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 11, 2003 at Lorne Britton Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Jamer officiating. Donations to the Veteran's Health Unit, "Wheels for Vets Fund", 700 Priestman St., P.O. Box 9000, Fredericton, N.B. E3B 5N5 would be greatly appreciated or the donor's choice.
