Glen Milheron
January 25, 1936 - July 10, 2023
With great sadness we announce the passing of Glenwood Francis Milheron on July 10, 2023, at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock, N.B.
Glen was born in Woodstock, N.B on January 25, 1936, to Roy and Edna (Hawkes) Milheron. His family moved to Juniper N.B where he spent most of his childhood years. Halfway through grade 8, he moved to Woodstock to live and care for his grandmother and to finish his schooling, graduating from Woodstock High School.
In 1957 he married Marion Keary and was a very devoted husband and father of 2 daughters. They were married for 64 years until her passing in 2020.
He had a lifelong career with NB Power, working hard to rise to a management position. Glen was a hard worker and loved to stay busy. He was a caretaker of his friends and family, ready to lend a helping hand when needed. He was a builder of everything and anything.
He was involved in many outdoor activities such as softball, camping with his family, fishing with brothers and would often take his young daughters with him. His all-time favorite sport was bowling, spending years on the men’s league, where he had many accomplishments and many trophies. He, along with his winning bowling team were inducted into the sports Wall of Fame in Woodstock N.B in 2008. He created and implemented the Blake Trophy yearly tournament. He developed youth bowling and mentored many young people through the years at the Woodstock Bowlacade.
Glen and his wife loved to travel enjoying many trips throughout Canada, the United States and England.
Predeceased by his wife Marion; Parents; Parents-in-law; Brothers: Wilfred, Roy Jr, Gerald (Teddy), Jimmie; Brothers -in-law and sisters-in-law: Lorraine Milheron, Eva Milheron, Jerry Dickinson, Colleen Milheron, Edna Milheron, Roger Byram, Connie Milheron, George Keary, Marie Keary.
Survived by Daughters: Debbie Kearney (Gary) and Wendy Swim (John); Grandchildren: Graham Shaw. Katrina Barteski (Brad), Matthew Swim (Christin), Luke Swim (Jenny) and Carissa Forbes (Brent); Several great Grandchildren; Brothers and Sisters: Carl Milheron (Denise), Leona Dickinson, Darrell Milheron, Weldon Milheron, Doreen McLean (David), Helen Byram, Darlene McGarity (Donnie), Arlene Ahmad, Robert Milheron (Rosalie), Paul Milheron (Nancy), Carolyn Milheron; Sister-in-law: Cynthia Pearman (Chris)
Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special Thank You to Carissa Forbes for taking such good care of her Grampy in his final days. She was very devoted.
Also Thank You to the Carleton Manor for the care of our father in his final days with a special mention to the kitchen staff for taking care of all of us.
A visitation will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home on Thursday July 13th from 1 to 3 PM.
Funeral Service will be held at 3PM, interment to follow at Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
