Notes - Obituary:
In Memory of
Roberta “Marilyn” Gee
1931-2023
It is with sadness and loving memories the family of Marilyn Gee announces her passing on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born on March 21, 1931 in Centerville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn (Crawford) and the late Harding Smith.
Marilyn is survived by son, Peter Gee (Robin Saunders); daughter, Kathryn Rennie (Graham); granddaughter, Angela Hall (Aaron); grandson, Damian Rennie (Hitomi); and great granddaughters, Audrey and Aria Rennie.
Marilyn will be most remembered as a loving mother and wife, and as an adored grandmother and great grandmother. Nothing was more important to Marilyn than her family. Marilyn was a dedicated elementary school teacher for many years in both East Saint John and St. Stephen, NB. In her retirement, Marilyn enjoyed travelling, nature, quilting and was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Fredericton Food Bank, as well as being a longstanding member of the IODE.
Arrangements are under the care of York Funeral Home in Fredericton. A Private Interment Ceremony will take place at Knoxford Community Cemetery where Marilyn will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Thomas “Tom” Gee of 65 years, at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fredericton SPCA, or charity of your choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
