      Beatrice L. Bird
      1921 - 2010

      At the Carleton Manor in Woodstock on Saturday October 16, 2010, Beatrice L. Bird passed away at the age of 89. Born in Wilsons Creek, BC she was a daughter of the late John and Hazel (Parsons) McElhinney and wife of the late Laurel C. “Bud” Bird. Beatrice was a member of the New Maryland United Church and the U.C.W.

      She is survived by her children Carol Cosman (Jim) of Woodstock, NB, Wayne Bird (Alta) of Charters Settlement, NB, Larrie Bird (Lorraine) of Charters Settlement, NB, Nancy Robinson (Rick) of Clifton, NB, Stephen Bird (Cathy) of Charters Settlement, NB, Tim Bird (Marilyn) of New Maryland, NB; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers and sisters Lillian MacDonald, Mary Trecartin, Iva Dow, Ruby Kimball, Sarah McNally, John McEhinney, Leverett McElhinny, Edna Dickinson, Robert McElhinney, Glenna Michaud. She was also precedeased a daughter, Lynda Moir; by brothers and sisters Bertha McDade, Fred McElhinney, Russell McElhinney and Irene Delong.

      Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton with visitation on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held from the New Maryland United Church on Tuesday October 19, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kelly Burke officiating. Interment will be held at the Upper Keswick Cemetery. The pallbearers will be; Chris Bird, Nick Bird, Jeremy Robinson, Jeff Bird, Colin Bird and Doug Charters.

      Contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Carleton Manor Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

      The family would like thank Dr. Goodine, the nurses and staff at Carleton Manor for the exemplary care and compassion they provided, with a special thank you to Pam Lloyd. Your kindness will always be remembered.
