      John F. McElhinney
      1929-2025

      Rev. John F. McElhinney of Grand Bay-Westfield passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born March 16, 1929, and was the son of the late John and Hazel McElhinney. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Audrey, and his siblings, Russell McElhinney, Leverett McElhinney (Elizabeth), Lillian MacDonald (Mac), Bertha McDade (Frank), Beatrice Bird (Bud), Fred McElhinney, Mary Trecartin (Perley), Iva Dow, Ruby Kimball (Clarence), Edna Dickinson (Robert), Irene DeLong (Junior); brothers-in-law, Reid McNally, William Michaud.

      John is survived by his children, David McElhinney (Carolyn) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Cheryl Porter (Mark) of Lower Greenwich; grandchildren, Jonathan McElhinney (Mel), Joel McElhinney, Joy Pusey (Dan), Jordan McElhinney (Katrina), CK Porter, Nicolas Porter (Janaine); great grandchildren, Josiah McElhinney, Kathryn McElhinney, Karise Pusey, Grace Pusey, Aydin Pusey, Melisa Pusey, Isaiah McElhinney, Faith McElhinney, Eliana McElhinney, Arwen Porter; siblings Robert McElhinney (Marilyn), Sarah McNally, Glenna Michaud; brother-in-law, Ralph Dow; several nieces and nephews; and, in addition to these family members, John and Audrey were adopted as parents and grandparents by Martin and Candace Salkey and their children, Shane and Shanice.

      Visitation will be held at the Britton Funeral Home, 2 High Street, Hartland on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Darren Clark officiating. The interment will be at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland. If so desired, donations can be made to the River Valley Wesleyan Church. www.brittonfh.ca. 506-375-4343
