  Obituary: Monte Silas Shaw 1932-2020 Monte Silas Shaw passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug 8, 2020 at his home in Simonds, New Brunswick. He was born Sept 1, 1932 and was the son of the late Dean and Vera Shaw. He was predeceased by an infant son, Danny, and siblings, Winnie Purcell, Gerald Shaw, Harold Shaw and Nadine Graham and many brothers and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Helen (Giberson) Shaw; Children, Valerie Slipp of Waterville, Patty (Jeff) Gaunce of Florenceville-Bristol, Cecil (Laurea) Shaw of Simonds, Susan Shaw of Fredericton and Rodney (Sabrina) Shaw of Simonds; Grandchildren, Anne (Matthew) Chaisson, Emma (Justin) Poliquin, Frank (Dafne) Slipp, Crystal (Thomas) Kent, Damon (Sheena) Gaunce, Kathleen (Ted) Patterson, Graham Shaw, Katrina (Bradley) Barteski, Kaylyn (Pierce McAllister) Shaw, Daniel Shaw, Caleb Shaw, Matthew (Christin) Swim, Luke (Jenny) Swim, Carissa (Brent) Forbes, Isaiah Shaw and Ashley Shaw, and 25 and 2/3 great-grand children; brother, Cecil B (Shirley) Shaw and sister, Amy (Robert) Littlejohn; sisters-in-law; Thelma Billings, Francis Avery and Mary Trecartin; many nieces and nephews. One of his great delights was making wooden spoons and shoe horns which he gave out freely to many people in his home or on the street. His greatest joy was his wife and family and his God. We entrust him to Jesus and look forward to the day we will see him again. A funeral service for Monte will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the top of the hill on the farm (3285 Route 103, Simonds). Some seating will be provided, but feel free to bring along your own chair if you wish too. Hats and casual summer attire are welcomed. The interment will follow the service in the Middle Simonds Cemetery.
