      Barbara E. Beattie
      1929-2025

We are heartbroken by the loss of our mother and grandmother, Barbara "Barb" Beattie who passed away quietly with her family by her side on January 14, 2025, at the Hotel-Dieu of St Joseph, Perth Andover, NB.

Barb is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Gary) Keenan, Woodstock, Cathy (Harold) Oakes, Centreville, Nancy (Mark) Keenan, Mactaquac, Barbie (Robert) McIntosh, Gordonsville; Grandchildren, Anthony (Jodi) Keenan, Amanda Keenan, Courtney (Courtenay) Keenan, Jared (Jackie) Oakes, Janelle (Shawn) Tucker, Angela (Bill) Taylor, Timothy (Erin) Keenan, Mallory (Chris) McIntosh; Great grandchildren, Avery, Shelby, Aubrie, Poppy, Sonny, Maysen, Max, Adalynn, Hailey, Tristan, Kiele, Kade, Michael and Andrew; sister, Mary-Ann Peters, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

Barb was born June 15th, 1929, to the late Stanley & Eva (Kilpratrick) Green of Centreville. She was predeceased by her mother who passed when Barb was just ten days old, her father, stepmother Gladys (Kennedy) Green, the love of her life Victor, as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Barb had many loves but none that compared to her love of Victor, her children and their families. Her grandchildren became the center of her world until the great grandchildren arrived. Her face would light up just talking about how beautiful they all were. She loved to play cards with her friends on a regular basis, but nothing would get in the way of her and dancing. If there was a dance being held, you would always find her on the dance floor with Victor, cutting a rug.

Barb will be remembered for her love of cooking. You could always find her whipping up a delicious meal or dessert to share with family, friends, and many in the community. She was in fact the world’s best biscuit maker, and you will not be able to tell her grandchildren otherwise.

Barb will be best remembered for her sense of humour. She and Victor loved to laugh. Together on their beloved bus trips, Victor in the back making the ladies laugh and Barb at the front telling one of her many jokes. People flocked to be around them because you couldn't help but feel wonderful after any interaction. Barb really believed that, "happiness is like jam. You can't spread even a little without getting some on yourself."

Barb's family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Marco and to the exceptional staff of the Upper River Valley Hospital & Hotel-Dieu of St Joseph for the wonderful care during her stay there.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 12:00 - 2:30 pm. A funeral service will follow at 3 pm. Rev. Michael Goodfellow will officiate. The interment will be in St. Paul's United Cemetery, Centreville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, St Paul's United Church Cemetery in Centreville or the donor's choice would be appreciated.
