Lloyd A. Tompkins
1949-2020
It is with deep sadness that the family of Lloyd Allan Tompkins of Gordonsville announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Lloyd was born on December 25, 1949 and was the son of Guy Tompkins and the late Georgina Tompkins. He was also predeceased by his sister Joanne Ellis, and a brother-in-law, Larry Allen.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Daphene (Allen) Tompkins of Gordonsville; daughters, Kelly (Shawn) Stephenson of Rockland, Melanie (Darren) Clark of Rockland; grandsons, Blake and Braden Stephenson, Nash and Ryker Clark; father, Guy (Betsy) Tompkins of Mount Pleasant; siblings, Larry (Lois) Tompkins of Rockland, Faye Miller of Trenton, ON, Glenn Tompkins of Mount Pleasant, David Tompkins of Bannon, Joyce Reid of St. Stephen, Sally (Brian) Shaw of Oakland, Carol Acheson of Saint John; sisters-in-law, Charlotte (Gene) Patterson of Somerville, Fernande Allen of Grand Falls; brother-in-law, Carmon (June) Allen of Surrey, BC; nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was a very kind man of few words. He was always playing jokes with a smile on his face. He loved to tinker and invent things in his shop. He spent 30 years working at McCain Foods. He loved his camping life and camping family. He fully supported his family and grandsons in every way possible.
Visitation will be held at the Britton Funeral Home, 2 High Street, Hartland on Friday, January 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. from the Lorne Britton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Michael Horsman officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland at a later date.
