L. Hazen Drost
1923-2014
The death of Leslie Hazen Drost of Riverbank occurred on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at River View Manor, Bath. Born July 11, 1923 in Wicklow he was the son of the late Gordon and Dora (Cullins) Drost. He was also predeceased by 1 grandson, Quentin; 1 sister Eulah Ellis and 1 brother, Gerald Drost.
Hazen drove truck early in his married life. Later in life he worked as a Stationery Engineer for S.W. Bell and Juniper Lumber Mills until his retirement. Hazen had many hobbies that he enjoyed, small engine repair, spending time at the camp in Greenfield, taking great pride in his garden and bee keeping. He always enjoyed having visit with family and friends to reminisce and tell stories of the years gone by. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Hazen is survived by his wife of 69 years, Doris; 4 children, Mancel Drost (Sharon), Raymond Drost (Cathy), Larry Drost (Alanda) and Heather Gilliss (Morris); 11 grandchildren, Leslie Drost (Doris), James Drost, Patrick Drost (Cheryl), Meredith Kettles (Brian), Denis Drost, Kathie-Mae Drost, Carl Drost (Anne), Melissa Baker (Mitch), Naomi Gilliss, Josh Delong (Michelle) and Jonathan DeLong (Alyson); 15 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 5-9 pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Michael Trail will officiate. Interment will be in the Wicklow Cemetery.
