Hazel Lilian Salmon
1925-2008
The death of Hazel Lilian Salmon of Florenceville, NB occurred on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Kennebec Nursing Home, Saint John, NB. Born in Debec, NB on July 3, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Gladys (Hunter) Salmon. Hazel had a long career in the Health Industry, having graduated from McGill University as a Registered Nurse and worked as a nurse and nursing supervisor in many Canadian cities. Hazel was very generous in making donations to many charities and volunteering at her local elementary school into her eighties. She was famous for her knowledge and talent with gardening, a love of her life. Hazel will be remembered and dearly missed for her spunk, wit and kindness, by everyone who knew her. Survived by her sister, Pauline (Bill) Duff of Cedar Camp, NB; her brother, James Salmon of Saint John; two nieces, Kim (Lorne) Blagdon of Fredericton Junction, NB and Leslie (Pat) Johnston of Halifax, NS; and three nephews, Larry (Luan) Salmon of Saint John, Stephen (Paige) Duff of Halifax and Jeff (Sue) Duff of Saint John. Predeceased by her parents and a brother, Arnold Salmon. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date in Florenceville. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or any charity of choice.
