Centreville (Carleton Co.) Aug. 12 - Robinson LONGSTAFF, age 82, departed this life at residence Chester, opposite Bristol, Monday, 10th inst., leaving children and relatives. Mr. Longstaff was born in Northumberland, England. While young he started for this country. He lived for a long time on the Perley farm between Woodstock and Houlton. He worked hard and raised a large family, having been twice married. For the past month he suffered so much that he longed to leave this world. He was tenderly cared for by his son who lives on the homestead, his son's wife and the only remaining single daughter. Mr. L. outlived both wives. He was buried yesterday at Greenfield in the Church of England burying ground. The deceased's daughter, Mrs. TURNEY of Richmond, U.S. did not reach Greenfield until her father was buried. With the consult of rector and aid of friends the casket was raised, the lid opened and an opportunity given the daughter to take a last look upon the remains of her daughter.
