    • Obituary:

Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Brown of Allison Drive, Sussex Corner, NB went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2006 at the age of 89. Born in Gregg Settlement NB on August 5, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Joycie (Gee) Antworth and the beloved wife of the late Wallace (Sr.) Brown who passed away in 1978. Mildred is survived by two daughters, Judy McAllister and her husband Roger of Sussex Corner, Gail Douthwright and her husband Russell of Saint John, her son, Wallace (Wally) Brown Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Urney, her daughter-in-law, Sheila Brown of Sussex Corner, five sisters: Anna Sloat and her husband Paul of Hartland, Margaret Longstaff of Lincoln, Nellie Carmichael and her husband Milford of Williamstown, Alberta Dunkman and her husband Fred of St. Petersburg, Florida, Elaine Love of Ontario, six brothers: Earl Antworth and his wife Glenna of Hartland, Phillip Antworth and his wife Glenna of Centreville, Gilbert Antworth and his wife Carolyn of Cole Stream, Harold Antworth of Centreville, Malcolm Antworth and his wife Carmen of Lakeland, Florida, Kenneth Antworth and his wife Jean of Florenceville, 10 grandchildren: Tammy Brown, Shelley McLong and her husband Troy, Troy McAllister and his wife Wanda, Jason MacCullum and his wife Darlene, Corey McAllister and his wife Andrea, Russell Brown, Candace MacCullum, Katie Brown, Brock McAllister, Morgan Brown, four great grandchildren: Alexa, and Ella McLong, Kayla and Charla McAllister, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her son, Calvin and by her brother Rolston. Mildred was an active member of Calvary Pentecostal Church where she was involved in the Ladies Group and taught Sunday school. She worked with her husband Wallace at Brown's Paving, where she was secretary. She loved to knit, sew, embroider and crochet. She was the oldest of 13 children. Somewhere on the farm, amid the arrival of yet another brother or sister her dreams of normal school were not to become a reality. Her life was consumed with caring for her family and her commitment to her church of which she was a member for 60 years. Someone said "how well she could sew", but she was more than a sewer she was a gifted seamstress. Mildred was a very strong, independent woman, whether by nature or necessity we'll never know. She has a very matter of fact manner but beneath it a very warm and giving heart. She died with the same grace and dignity with which she lived her life. May we gracefully follow in her footsteps. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Church, St. George Street, Sussex on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Calvary Pentecostal Church on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 2:00pm followed the interment at Riverbank Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship with the family in the Church Hall immediately following the Committal Service. Donations made to the Lower Access for Calvary Pentecostal Church, Canadian Cancer Society or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
