    • Obituary:

lta Jean (Pratt) Olmstead, 73, of Upper Woodstock, NB passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Alta was born in Woodstock, NB on November 29, 1947, daughter of the late John and Mabel (Amos) Pratt. Besides her parents, Alta was predeceased by her husband David Olmstead.

Alta is survived by her only brother Howard (Joan) Pratt, Woodstock, NB and his three children: nephew John Pratt, Kamloops, BC; two nieces Heather (Kevin) Bowater, Woodstock, NB and Janine Pratt, Woodstock, NB

Alta also held the special role of great auntie to Jenna & Dane Bowater who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by one cherished sister-in-law Barbara Crandlemire who was more like a sister without the in-law. Alta is warmly remembered by several nieces and nephews on the Olmstead side. Alta also maintained a close relationship with a number of cousins and special friends who held a treasured place in her heart.

Alta was a nurse at heart and began her career at the Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, NB. She continued her nursing career in private practice with Dr. Gary Beatty. She was a natural born nurse that was dedicated beyond the clinical setting. It was very common for friends and family to call her for any medical advice.

Most of all, God came first to Alta and she lived her life in service to the will of God.
