      Lena Olmstead
      1920-2017

      The death of Helen "Lena" Olmstead of Bath occurred on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Born June 11, 1920 in Insture, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Isabella (Smart) Colville. She was also predeceased by her husband, Douglas Olmstead Sr.; 2 children, Charles Olmstead and Marie “Tish” Cole (John); 1 grandson, Douglas Olmstead III; 2 sisters, Mae Ness and Rita McLean.

      Lena was a member of the CWL at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bath and a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 57 Wabush, Labrador.

      Lena is survived by her 4 children, Douglas Olmstead (Mary), Linda Perry (Shaun), David Olmstead (Rose) and Sharon Olmstead; 6 grandchildren, Colin, Glenn, Charlie, Duska, Andrew and Eve; 14 great grandchildren, Tyffani, Dustin, Mackenzie, Douglas, Andrew, Aaron, Jaden, Kyle, A.J., Melody, Laura, Leddy, Ashley and Kent; 3 great-great grandchildren, Jordyn, Lucian and Jersey-Lynn; special niece, Dorothy Edward (Bob) as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

      Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd., Florenceville-Bristol on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 am from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bath. Fr. Owen Burns as celebrant. The interment will be in the Johnville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Sleeping Children Around the World, Martin Kilfoil Fund or the Bath Lions Medical Travel Fund would be appreciated.
