  Obituary: Douglas William Kidd Chase, 79, of Oakland, NB, passed away at the Northern Carleton Hospital, Bath, NB on Thursday, January 25, 2007. Douglas was born in Fredericton, NB, on March 22, 1927, son of the late Stanley and Fern (Campbell) Chase. Douglas is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Harrington) Chase, Oakland, NB, daughters: Ferne Chase, Stickney, NB, (Graydon Drier), Suzanne Hunter (Terry), Stickney, NB, three grandchildren: Billie-Jo, Ian, Sarah, five great grand children: Kennedy, Terry, Ryan, Mariah, Benjamin, sister: Marion Alward, Oakland, NB. Besides his parents, Douglas was predeceased by a brother: Arnold, and three sisters: Reta, Alma, Madeline. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2007 at The Florenceville Baptist Church 167 Burnham Road Florenceville, NB, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at The Florenceville Baptist Church at 2 PM with Rev. Charles Thompson officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Hunter Community Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Diabetic Association or the Hunter Community Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
