  Obituary: John Merrill Demerchant, 74, of Zealand NB passed away on Monday, November 07, 2016 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Fredericton NB. John was born in Woodstock NB on May 28, 1941 son of the late Eldon and Alice (Ballah) Demerchant. John is survived by his sons, Michael (Jen), Paul, daughter, Elaine Harvey (Peter), five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brothers; William (Bill), Minto, NB, Elmer (Margaret) Midland, ON, David, Fredericton, NB sister, Joan Richard (Ronald), Woodstock NB, nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by a brother, Albert. By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held for John at The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 1 PM. Interment will be held in the Upper Fosterville Cemetery.
