      Died peacefully in Toronto April
      18, 2014 after a short illness, an
      hour after his 71st birthday. Son
      of Gillis and archy Purcell,
      beloved husband of Lois (De
      Merchant), brother of Judy
      (Marcel Hamelin), Pat (John
      Smart) and Sue Purcell
      Predeceased by his brother,
      Peter (Barbara Morrison). Bob
      worked at the Vancouver Sun
      and Toronto Star before his
      career in public relations. An
      expert wordsmith, avid sailor
      and lover of sports cars, he will
      be missed for his quiet
      generosity, efficiency and loyalty
      to his friends.

      ROBERT PURCELL

      April 17, 1943 - April 18, 2014 Died peacefully in Toronto after a short illness. Adored husband of Lois (De Merchant), beloved brother of Judy (Marcel Hamelin), Pat (John Smart) and Sue. Predeceased by his brother Peter (Barbara Morrison). Bob was admired and will be cherished by his 12 nieces and nephews and sadly missed by his many friends. His absence has already been noticed by his feline buddy Mooch. Bob will be remembered as an expert wordsmith, an avid sailor, a creative cook and bartender and a lover of sports cars. The family wishes to express its deep appreciation to Bob's caregivers and the ACE team at St. Michael's Hospital. A celebration of his life will take place later in the summer. "Goodnight, sweet prince..."
