      Jack DeMerchant
      1932-2012

      Jack DeMerchant of Tobique Narrows passed away peacefully at the Victoria Glen Manor on December 2, 2012.

      Born in Tobique Narrows on August 7, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Wallace) DeMerchant. Jack leaves behind his sons Michael (Patty) DeMerchant of Saint John, Chris (Brenda) DeMerchant of Perth-Andover, Greg (Charlene) DeMerchant of Fredericton; grandchildren Ciara, Jordan, Nicole, and Tanya; great grandchildren Carter, Sophia, Blake, and Cole; sisters Marion DeMerchant and Reta Jamer, both of Perth-Andover; brother Peter DeMerchant of Tobique Narrows. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Joyce DeMerchant (Goodine); seven brothers and one sister.

      Jack was a member of the Perth-Andover Elks Club, the Knights of Columbus, and a Shriner. He was very successful and well respected local businessman.

      Funeral service was held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 11 am from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Gilbert Doddatto celebrated, assisted by Father Curtis Sappier. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

      Music for the service was by organist Sylvia Crawford. The eulogy was given by Jack's long-time friend, Burpee Wagner. The urn was carried by Jack's grandson, Jordan DeMerchant.

      Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
