      Elmer Lavigne
      1940-2017

      The passing of Elmer Joseph Lavigne of Lake George, NB, husband of Betty (DeMerchant) Lavigne occurred on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 4, 1940 in Bathurst, NB, he was the son of the late Peter and Hazel Lavigne. He worked for Charmac as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Elmer liked four wheeling, watching western movies and had a sweet tooth.

      In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Sharon Lavigne; son, Wayne Lavigne; grandchildren, Jessica, Jayden, Madison, Cullen, Ryan and Matthew; great grandchildren, Ethan, Alexander and Jasmine; sisters, Cora Crouse and Evangeline Soucy; brothers, Peter, Corney and Clifford Lavigne; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Brian Lavigne; grandson, James Myshrall; brothers, Ronnie and Eddie Lavigne.

      There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11am with Father Martin Arputham as celebrant. Private Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
