    • Obituary:

      Earle Anthony Blackie, 92, of Oak Mountain NB passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Upper River Valley Hospital Waterville NB. Earle was born in Oak Mountain, NB on August 10, 1925 son of the late Oliver and Grace (Murphy) Blackie.

      Earle is survived by his wife; Sylvia (McKinney) Blackie, daughters; Faye Grant, Janice Anderson (Reg), Alta Demerchant (Michael), eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

      Besides his parents, Earle was predeceased by his infant sons Leslie and Raymond, son-in-law, Ronnie Grant, sister Grace Harrison (George), brothers, John (Susan), (Leah), Wilbur (Mildred), Paul, niece, Carolyn, nephews, Wallie, John(Gwen), Eugene and Bob. Earle was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

      The ''Celebration of Life'' will be held for Earle Blackie on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm from The Carleton Funeral Home & Crematorium, 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville NB. Interment will be held in the Oak Mountain Cemetery with reception to follow in the Debec Church Hall.

      In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Debec United Church.
