- Obituary:
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Alma Ruth Hickson of Fredericton, NB on February 23rd, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Woodstock on January 8th, 1919, she was the daughter of George and Gertrude Hemphill. She was the widow of John Hickson and lived all of her married life in Saint John where she and her husband ran Hickson\'s Restaurant for over 30 years. She leaves to mourn her son, Jack (Melanie LeBrun) Hickson of Rothesay, NB; daughter, Lynne Presley of St. Stephen, NB; granddaughter, Susan (Chris) Irving of St. Stephen, NB; grandson, Matthew Hickson of Rothesay, NB and a sister, Gladys Hemphill of Fredericton, NB, with whom she had made her home the last few years and several cousins. She had great faith in her Lord and was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Resting at McAdam\'s Funeral Home, 160 York Street, with visitation on Thursday, February 25th, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 26th, 2010 at Grace Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating, assisted by Rev. Bob Malcolm. Interment will be in the Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Grace Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund.
