Notes - Obituary:
Oliver Barton Hemphill, 97, of Woodstock, NB passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Upper River Valley Hospital Waterville, NB. Barton was born in Debec, NB on March 9, 1915, son of the late Henry and Bernice (Barton) Hemphill.
Barton is survived by his daughter; Shirley Blue, Limestone, NB, son; Robert Hemphill (Janet), Airdrie, AB, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents; Barton was predeceased by his wife; Joyce (Thomas) Hemphill, son; Donald Hemphill, sisters; Jennie Lipsett and Marion Ely.
Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville, NB on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 9 from The Carleton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM with Rev. Deb Baker officiating. Interment will be held in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.
