Stillman Gladstone Antworth
March 8, 1926 - September 11, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stillman Gladstone Antworth announce his passing at the Upper River Valley Hospital on September 11, 2025, at the age of 99.
Stillman was born March 8, 1926, in Summerfield, NB. He was the son of Vernon and Hazel (Brown) Antworth.
Survived by son Wayne and daughters Karol and Lynn. Grandchildren Lori, Lisa, Gerry, Christy and Jesse. Eight cherished great grandchildren Evan, Hunter, William, Dominic, Alise, Hugo, Ada, and Hector. Many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Stillman was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Ada (Williams). Brothers Gerald, David and sister Velma, and daughter in-law Sandra Antworth.
Stillman was a pioneer in the trucking industry throughout the Maritimes. He was on the first board of directors for the Maritime Trucking Association. Stillman acquired his first truck in 1944 at the young age of 18. He moved forward in the industry establishing Antworth Transport in Woodstock, NB. Adding branches in Fredericton and Moncton. Stillman was an honorary member of the Woodstock Pistol Club, Woodstock Equestrian Trails and Shows Association as well as a 75 year member of the Elks Club.
The family would like to give special thanks to the homecare ladies who cared for Stillman while living at home. Also, the staff of 2 East at URVH and the Carelton Manor for their compassionate care during his time there. Many special friends that will never be forgotten.
Remains have been intrusted to Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main St in Woodstock, NB.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 15, 2025 from 11:00am - 1:00 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 pm from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Ed Sealy will be officiating. Interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation in Memory of Stillman can be of the donors choice.
