- Obituary:
Alton Richardson Bustard, 88, of Woodstock NB passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Carleton Manor. Alton was born February 18, 1935, son of Clayton and Erma (Lunnie) Bustard in Kirkland NB.
Alton is survived by his wife Jo (Flemming); children Loree Kaye (Doug) and Stephen (Jean); grandchildren Erica Kilfoil (Ian), Andrew Kaye, Sarah Bustard (Pierre Arseneau) and Aaron Bustard (Heather Lomax); great grandchildren Isaac Kilfoil, Owen Kilfoil; Clinton Bustard, Simon Arseneau, Leo Arseneau and Evelyn Bustard; sisters Shirley Graham and Geraldine Lenehan (John); and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Alton was predeceased by his sister Colleen Watson and brothers Colin and Hilary.
After graduating from the Maritime Forest Ranger School, Alton enjoyed a long career in the forestry industry. Forming B & W Forest Products Ltd. and A. Bustard Ltd. were testaments to his forestry and business knowledge.
Alton enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing. As an avid harness racing enthusiast and horse owner he served many years with the Woodstock Driving Club. Alton also enjoyed his work with the Woodstock Elks Club #349 and served as the Exalted Ruler.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville on Wednesday October 11th from 1Pm to 2PM.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 2PM from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel, Interment to follow at St Paul’s Anglican cemetery in Kirkland.
In consideration of those at risk, the family has requested visitors please wear masks.
