    • Obituary:
We wish to announce, with sadness, the passing of James (Jim) Henry Oakes. It occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital on September 13, 2023.
Jim was born in Bath on May 31, 1951 to Lester and Mary (Whitehouse) Oakes. He is survived by Janice Oakes, his two sons James Michael, (Stephanie Grant), and Darrin Scot Foster (Stephanie Caldwell), three grandchildren Vivian Oakes, Olivia and Thomas Foster. Also many nieces and nephews.
Jim graduated from Bath Regional High School in 1969, after which he joined his father Lester and brother Earl on the LF. Oakes Farm in Holmesville. The trucking industry was also a calling for Jim. He was well known and devoted many years to this profession.
At Jim’s request there will be a private graveside service, and interment will be in Bristol Community Cemetery.
For those who wish donations made to DunRoamin Stray and Rescue would be appreciated.
Jim loved and lived life to the fullest. He will be missed.
L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors are entrusted with the arrangements.
