  Obituary: Joan H. DeMerchant 1944-2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Joan Helen (Hall) Demerchant on June 10th, 2024, at the Upper River Valley Hospital. She was born on October 14th, 1944, in Johnville, NB to Josephine (Denny) Hall and Leo Hall. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Lowell, siblings Anne, Vernon, Rose, Albert, Pat, Juanita, Mary-Lou and grandson Jesse Demerchant. Joan was wonderful homemaker and cook, as well as an avid reader. If you showed up at her house on a Saturday you could be sure to have a big feed of baked beans, homemade bread and potato salad. Later in life, she and other friends from the apartments enjoyed watching the NBA ball games. Some of her favourite past times were reading, watching murder mysteries, listening to old country music and eating out. She is survived by her siblings Donnie Hall (Madeline) and Diane Kenney (Glazier); children Debbie McKimm (Danny) and Troy Demerchant (Julie); 4 grandchildren, John McKimm (Dani), Joe McKimm (Amanda), Kayla How (Tyler), Damien Demerchant (Katie); and 8 great-grandchildren Brielle, Blake, Jonathan, Hunter, Charley, Brooke, Kinsley and Jane; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol, NB on Friday, June 14th, 2024 from 1:00-2:45 pm. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm from L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place in the Mineral Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donation made to the Mineral Cemetery would be appreciated. L.R.
