- Obituary:
The death of Roma Dawne Murphy of Edmonton, AB occurred on August 3, 2016. Born July 25, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Roy and Opal (Brooks) Haines. She was predeceased by her husband, John Wallace Murphy, 1 son, Brendan DeMerchant and 1 brother, Darrell "Allie" Haines.
Roma is survived by her 4 children, Mark DeMerchant, Mahlon DeMerchant (Carole), Byron DeMerchant and Duska Curtis (Kip); their father, Herb DeMerchant; 3 step children, Rob Murphy (Krista), Russell Murphy and Mary Murphy; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings, Mryna Lovely, Gaynelle Kirkbride, Darlene Lunn and Neville Haines (Connie) as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Fielding Baptist Church. Pastor Vaughan Palin will officiate. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. A private interment will be in the Mineral Cemetery. Donations made to the Mineral Cemetery would be appreciated.
