  Obituary: The death of Desta Alma McDougall formerly of Bristol occurred on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton. Born in Upper Kent, December 1, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Eva (Ritchie) Saunders and wife of the late Ronald McDougall. Desta lived in Bristol for 62 years and was an active member of her community and church, Faith Memorial United Church. She was a member of the Bristol UCW and a member of the Bristol Fireman's Auxiliary. Desta was known for her cheerful, warm personality and for her great food. In 2010 she moved from her home in Bristol to Barrie's Special Care Home due to failing health. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the owners and staff of her new home. Desta is survived by her 3 children, Ruth Remming (Gerry), John McDougall (Gloria) and Alan McDougall (Bonnie); 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; 4 siblings, Robert Saunders (Alta), Mary Briggs (Eric), Louise Stevens (Rev. Robert) and Jack Saunders (Dawn) and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Interment will be held in the Bristol Community Cemetery at a later date. www.gibersonfuneraldirectors.ca
