- Obituary:
With broken hearts and deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Sadie Ellen Kathleen (Quinn) White July 25, 2023 from Summerfield, NB at the Riverview Manor in Bath, NB, surrounded by loved ones.
Mom was second born on July 26, 1935 in Kenneth, NB to the late Donald & Mary (Seymour) Quinn.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Garfield “Bud” White (June 11, 2010), sister Mary “Mamie” MacDonald, infant sister Lily, son-in-laws George Tweedie & David Taylor, great grandson Joshua White.
Mom is deeply missed by her 7 children, Cathy (Russ Byers) Tweedie Taylor, Joe (Glenda), John (Brenda), Debbie Thomas, Dawn Kenneson, Tim (Linda), Jason (Michelle), many beloved grand children, many precious great grand children and adored great great grand children, her brother Donald (Susan) Quinn, brother-in-law Don King, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
She had such a big heart, full of strength, incredible kindness & love. She was welcoming to anyone who came to her door and always willing to help family or friends in their time of need.
She loved & was proud of her children, grand children, great & great great grand children and loved spending time with them.
She was a beautiful cook and baker, she was well known and favorites She was a second mom & gram to nieces, nephews, cousins and many community children through the years.
She was a hard worker from an early age, where she went to work in Centreville and met Dad, the love of her life and loving husband of 56 years.
She enjoyed going out to play bingo which she continued to do at the manor. She loved playing card of all kinds. She never missed an episode of the Price Is Right with Bob Barker. Her favorite singer was Charlie Pride and she was listing to him when she passed. She loved camping, hunting & fishing on the Tobique.
She cherished her collection of pigs and nothing was better than her Montreal Canadiens. She loved watching the hummingbirds at her feeders in her later years.
Her loss is great and is felt near & far away. We as family take great comfort in knowing she is reunited with Dad and other loved ones.
Her family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Riverview Manor for their loving care, compassion and companionship during her time there.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors 207 Burnham Road, Florenceville-Bristol on Thursday, July 27 from 4-8pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dan Smith will officiate. Interment will be in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Her family would like to thank L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors for the compassion, care and support to the family during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers for those who wish donations may be made to the Greenfield Cemetery, Riverview Manor or Royal Canadian Legion Branch #37.
