    • Obituary:
The family of George Raymond Anderson sadly announce his passing on June 24, 2023, at the Upper River Valley Hospital, one day before his 84th birthday. Raymond was born in Divide, NB, June 25, 1939, to the late George and Marie (Della) Anderson.
Family was of great importance to Raymond, and he leaves to mourn his wife of 62 years, Anna Nadine, his four children Angela Scott (Peter), Tony (Kathy), Chris (Karla), Greg (Monica). As well, Raymond is survived by four grandchildren Scott (Lindsay), Laura (Brad), Morgan and Sam Hawksley, along with his new great grandchild, Lilah Rae. His sister in laws Barb Anderson, Barb Lewis, Ann Ellis, and brother in laws Sheldon Hill, Graydon Crabbe, Bill Springer, Heber Lewis, Dalton Ellis were integral members of Raymond’s life, and he called them friends as well as family. Raymond is predeceased by his brothers Irvin and Frederick and his sister, Claudine along with his sister in laws Maxine, Joan, and Marion.
As a young man he went to Woodstock Vocational School to study Agriculture and this is where he met the love of his life, Nadine. After several years of work with the Department of Transportation, Raymond realized his dream of becoming a full-time dairy farmer. For over 20 years he and his sons worked the farm. The boys learned the value of hard work and of completing a job to the best of their ability. They learned to fix machinery, haul hay and care for the livestock. His love of draft horses was a shared passion by his family, and they participated in the Fredericton Exhibition for over 40 years. Numerous friendships were made during those busy days and Raymond was well known for lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His grandchildren were blessed to have him take an interest in their lives for so many years. He always wanted to know about their lives, whether it be their success in school, their sporting endeavor's, or their jobs that helped them mature.
The family would like to thank the URVH staff and the Extramural nurses who provided support for Raymond in his last days of illness.
Visitation will be at Carleton Funeral Home on June 27 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm with the funeral service being held at St. John’s Anglican Church in Richmond Corner (3671, NB 540) June 28 at 3pm.
In Raymond’s memory donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke or any charity of your choosing.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB
