    • Obituary:
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Steven J. Curtis announces his sudden passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on January 14, 2023 at the age of 69 years. He was born in Bath, NB on April 24, 1953.
Steven was predeceased by his parents Hazel (Hunter) and Joseph Curtis as well as his brother. David Williams. He is survived by his brothers Peter (Melva), John (Kay) and sister-in-law, Louise Williams as well as six nieces and one nephew.
Steven grew up in Stickney and spent many years after High School graduation living in Red Deer, Alberta before moving back to the East Coast. He worked for several years at McCain’s Foods in Florenceville before moving to Fredericton where he worked for the Provincial Government until his retirement.
Steven was a very kind person, generous to a fault and always supported his friends above and beyond. He always saw good in people no matter the circumstances. Steven was always true to his word and was always there to help those in need.
Steven had a passion for gardening and his neighbors, family and friends will really miss the bountiful garden vegetables that he grew every year. He was also an avid reader and extraordinary movie buff.
In later years, Steven started spending the winters in Jamaica for a well deserved vacation. He savoured the sun, warm temperatures and easy going lifestyle.
Steven enjoyed going home to the family farm in Florenceville on a regular basis and spending time with old friends who he grew up with. He was a fixture at the Fredericton Boyce Market selling corn with his cousins, the Hunter Brothers, every Saturday morning during the summer.
Steven had a great love of his family and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephew and their families. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hunter Brothers Farm in Florenceville at the home of Tom and Shelley Hunter at 8540 Main Street on Saturday May 27th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
Donations in Steven’s name can be made out to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
